Our Managing Partner Mr. Elie Abboud has a long outstanding experience of assisting insurance and reinsurance organizations in transforming their accounting policies and financial reporting from the local standards to the international standards, in accordance with IFRS 4 requirements.
He was a member of the Andersen team (assigned from Andersen-Paris) worked on setting up an appropriate regulatory environment of the Lebanese insurance sector supervision and control role, (Phase 1 & II) based on the contractual agreement concluded with the Lebanese Ministry of Economy and Trade.
His responsibilities included participation in the development of the insurance statutory accounting principles as well as development of the regulatory reporting system. In addition, he acted as a lead audit manager on the compliance audit phase (Phase III conducted by Ernst & Young), which included performing the audit on two thirds of the Lebanese insurance companies (30 companies).
Our Managing Partner is a frequent speaker at insurance industry seminars and delivered a variety of training programs on topics including insurance auditing, insurance accounting concepts and practices, application of the new Lebanese insurance regulatory accounting principles, demonstrations on the preparation of the new Lebanese regulatory insurance forms, and IFRS 4 and IFRS 7 applicable for insurance and reinsurance.
